On January 24, 2013, Union Electric Company, d/b/a Ameren Missouri, filed an application seeking a certificate of convenience and necessity from the Commission to expand the boundaries of its Labadie Energy Center to permit the construction and operation of a utility waste landfill.† The proposed landfill is located in Franklin County, Missouri and would be used to store coal combustion products, sometimes referred to as coal ash, generated at the companyís coal-fired electric power plant.† Ameren Missouri asks the Commission to approve its application by December 31, 2013, to allow it to begin construction of the landfill in 2014.
The Commission will provide notice of the filing of Ameren Missouriís application to potentially interested parties and will establish a date for the filing of applications to intervene in this proceeding †
THE COMMISSION ORDERS THAT:
††††††††† 1.†††††† The Commissionís Data Center shall serve a copy of this order upon the county commission of Franklin County, and shall provide a copy of this order to each party to Ameren Missouriís most recent rate case, ER-2012-0166.
††††††††† 2.†††††† The Commissionís Public Information Office shall make notice of this order available to the members of the General Assembly representing Franklin County and to the news media serving Franklin County.
3.†††††† Any proper person or entity wishing to intervene shall file an applica≠tion to intervene no later than February 22, 2013, with:
