ORDER APPROVING NET METERING TARIFFS

Issue Date: January 9, 2013                                     Effective Date: January 17, 2013

On December 18, 2012, Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCPL) and KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company (GMO) issued revised net metering tariffs to bring those companies’ net metering tariffs into compliance with the Commission’s recently revised net-metering regulation.  Those tariffs carry an effective date of January 17, 2013.

On December 19, the Commission issued an order directing its Staff to file a recommendation regarding KCPL and GMO’s tariffs.  That order also required that any other party wishing to file a recommendation regarding those tariffs do so no later than January 4.  Staff filed its recommendation to approve the tariffs on January 4.  No other party has filed a response to the tariffs.

Staff explains that the submitted tariffs comply with the controlling statute and with the Commission’s current regulation.  Staff recommends that the Commission approve the submitted tariffs.

Based on Staff’s recommendation, the Commission will approve KCPL and GMO’s tariffs.
